Salvation: The Hebraic perspective

In the Hebraic perspective, salvation (yeshua) is understood as a collective and ongoing process of deliverance from spiritual as well as physical threats and oppression, and also the personal journey of maintaining a right relationship with Elohim. This involves actions such as repentance (teshuva), good deeds (tzedakah), prayer (tefilah), and observing commandments (mitzvot), culminating in maintaining the covenant relationship with Elohim through collective redemption and a life of devotion. Note: Elohim is the collective Powers of the Creator (YHWH - The Cosmos/Universe); and yeshua is not an individual.

Collective deliverance in its Historical context:
In the Tanakh, "salvation" frequently refers to Elohim saving the Israelites from their enemies and oppressors, most notably as expressed in the Exodus from Kemet (Egypt). This Redemption was predicated upon the spiritual wisdom put into physical practice in order to bring about the physical salvation. However, the ultimate salvation is often seen as the future and final redemption of Israel from exile, a concept known as ge'ulah. Note: Israel is identified as any people who learn and keep the instruction (Torah) which was given to people in order to live a righteous life.

Personal and communal relationship with Elohim (the powers of the universe). It is by way of Repentance and atonement, the central element is teshuva (repentance), along side prayer (tefilah) and deeds (mitzvot) to mend the relationship with Elohim, that Israel (the people) receive salvation. This can be seen in the keeping of the holy days such as Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement), which is a time when forgiveness is sought through the combined principles of repentance, prayer, and the merit of the patriarchs, replacing the ancient sacrificial system in the present day. It is a life of devotion. Thus, Salvation is not a one-time event, it is a continuous journey of faith that involves a life of commitment to the ways, the teachings of righteousness, that come forth from YHWH Elohim.

Salvation is an Ongoing process of deliverance from hardship. The concept of yeshua is also a continuous act of the people and the nation, receiving help from Elohim through their daily study and actions, fueled by their commitment to the spirit of Elohim. Thus, Deliverance from judgment is to be saved from future judgment (e.g., Gehinnom - a metaphor for a place of judgment or purification) through actions such as visiting the ill or giving charity.

Prosperity comes with Salvation. Thus, salvation lead to material and physical blessings such as health and wealth. In the Hebrew scriptures, the word for salvation (yeshu'ah), include the concepts of deliverance, welfare, and prosperity. Some verses also link obedience and faith to blessings and a prosperous life.

Psalms 1 and the Shema (See: Shema in middle of page), I believe, is what got me through my tour of duty as a soldier in Vietnam! I especially love the part of Psalms 1:3; "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its seasons; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

My mother use to teach me this from the perspective of a farmer. She said that a tree that is near a good body of water has strong roots and will have a good and fruitfull life. And even if it is cut down, it will grow back. The tree by the water is liken unto being rooted in righteousness where in one will have part in the resurrection. So, what so ever you do, do in righteousness and without fear of the out come.

"make the name of God known among the nations" ~ What is his name?

The call to "make the name of God known among the nations" is a recurring theme in the Bible, particularly in Psalms and other prophetic texts. It emphasizes the importance of sharing the character, deeds, and salvation message of Yahwah with all people, regardless of their cultural or national background. This involves not only verbally proclaiming the glory of Yahwah, but also demonstrating it through one's actions and living out the principles (the commandments of Yahwah) in our daily life.

Psalm 105:1: specifically calls for giving praise to YahWah (the Lord), proclaiming His name, and making known His deeds among the nations.

Ezekiel 36:23: promises to sanctify His great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and the nations will know He is YahWah and not the Lord.

Isaiah 2:2-4: envisions a future where all nations will flow up to the mountain (government) of YahWah the Lord to learn His ways and worship Him.

Understanding what it Means to Make Known the name YahWah: Proclaiming his character and works - - This involves sharing the stories of the deliverance, power, and faithfulness with others, the deliverance of Israel from Egypt, ancient and modern.

Living out the character of YahWah: Demonstrating his love, compassion, and righteousness through our daily lives can be a powerful way to make known the name Yahwah. In essence, making the name Yahwah known among the nations is a call to be ambassadors of his love, truth, and salvation, sharing His glory and character with the world.

Give praise to Yahwah, proclaim his name; make it known among the nations what he has done. – Psalm 105:1

See Yahwah Elohim, more than a God or god

YHWH

Yahuwah is the Hebrew Scriptural name for the former of all things, commonly refered to as "The Creator". However, the Heavens and the earth were "formed" and Not created. The idea of created (creation) is a misconception. Created is a concept based in linear thought - it give rise to the idea of a 'beginning' and an 'end'. "Formed' is based in cyclical thought of eternal existence, no beginning nor end. There is perpetual change 'Formed' in various seasons of existence.
