Hebrew Prophets, Prophecy and The Philosophy of Hebrew Scripture

Prophet ( Navi נְבִיא ) and Prophesy

In Hebrew, the word נְבִיא (navi), "spokesperson", traditionally translates as "prophet".

The second subdivision of the Hebrew Sacred Scriptures, TaNaKh (for "Torah, Nevi'im, Ketuvim"), is devoted to the Hebrew prophets.

The meaning of navi is best described in Deuteronomy 18:18, where G-d said, "...and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." Thus, the navi was thought to be the "mouth" of G-d. The root nun-vet-alef ("navi") is based on the two-letter root nun-vet which denotes hollowness or openness; to receive transcendental wisdom, one must make oneself "open". Cf. Rashbam's comment to Genesis 20:7.

According to some views, prophecy is not a gift that is arbitrarily conferred upon people; rather, it is the culmination of a person's spiritual and ethical development. When a person reaches a sufficient level of spiritual and ethical achievement, the Shechinah (Divine Spirit) comes to rest upon him or her. Likewise, the gift of prophecy leaves the person if that person lapses from his or her spiritual and ethical perfection.

 

Wisdom of the Prophet ( Navi נְבִיא )

There is no indication that snakes in the Garden of Eden actually had limbs and walked upright and talked prior to "the fall". This idea has been falsely read into the passage, and it became a necessity to propagate such an idea by those who lack awareness of the many divine council terms and motifs that clearly demonstrate that the Eden incident concerns a confrontation against Yahwah and his human imagers from within the divine council. The nachash's 'seed' would simple be literal snakes and have no divine power to deceive the seed of the woman if we take this to be actual snakes we see crawling upon the ground.

However, if this nachash is in fact a shining divine being, then it makes sense that the 'counter seed' that would arise to oppose and kill off the seed of the woman (both in terms of "godly" (righteous / correct way) humans and the ultimate seed, the Messiah) would be an actual genealogical line that would be evil (out of harmony with the "correct way") in origin. That is exactly what we see in Genesis 6:1-4.

The nachash desired to elavate himself above all created things on earth (and above the other created elohim, the "stars of God" – (Isa. 14:12-15; Job 38:7-10), and above the apex of that creation, humanity. Yah's eschatological curse is that hannachash "the shining one" or "the shining deceiver", is placed under humanity's authority, who also governs the animals. He, the nachash, is put on the bottom of all created things.

Israel's enemies are the descendants of the "reptilian / serpentine" beings who seduced the human women in Genesis 6. These offspring are called the nephilim (giants) and gibborim (mighty warriors). The nephilim and / or gibborim produce succeeding generations of enemies of Yah's chosen seed (Israel). The activity of the fallen "sons of God" is attempt to destroy the "seed of Adam" thorough corruption of all human lineages (except Noah’s). The war between the "Sons of Light" and the "Sons of Darkness" is all about preserving bloodlines and 'hybrid' bloodlines.

The fall of Babylon, the rise of the kingdom of Yah!

"For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality" (Revelation 18: 3).

Babylon stands for the great religious, political and economic systems of the world. Men have built "Worlds" without Yah Almighty. Religion, politics and money are the three methods man has used to control his fellow man. Frequently they have been the instrument of persecution and martyrdom of millions of the saints of the Most High, such as Martin Luther King jr..

"And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird" (Revelation 18: 2).

Babylon is often used to indicate a strong and powerful, yet corrupted and immoral place. Bible prophecy indites the present day world governments to this fate.

"Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him" (Dan 7: 27).

In Daniel 2:4, "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. For just as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, brass, clay, silver and gold; the great God has made this known to the king what shall come to pass in the future. The dream is certain and the interpretation is sure." All the kingdoms of this world - and the glory and power of them - shall cease before the spreading of Truth by the Kingdom of God!

"And in the days of these kings..." Are these kings on earth today? Are you ready for the kingdom of Heaven on Earth? Messiah and the End of this World?
