Health: Mind, Body, and Spirit
Health is the condition of your body and/or mind with regard to soundness and vigor
Health is more than merely the absence of disease or some form of infirmity.
Basically, health is the state of overall well-being as well as the absence of disease and illness in general. Health also
encompasses various aspects of physical, mental, and social well-being. The enjoyment of the best health attainable
is one of the fundamental rights of every human being. This is regardless of race, religion,
political belief, economic or social environment.
Here at Profit Income blog, we attempt to address
all of the different aspects of health; the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
When we say emotional health, we are talking about how we think and feel.
In other words, our sense of wellbeing and our ability to cope with life events. How well we acknowledge our own emotions
as well as those of others will influence our emotional health.
Spiritual health is centered around transcendence and actualization of different dimensions and capacities of human
beings. It is the essence of a purposeful life. Spiritual health creates that well needed balance between the physical,
the psychological and the social aspects of life for human beings.
A healthy body rely upon a healthy spirit-mind combination. The idea of healthy spirit is the state of inner peace and well-being that is
achieved through practices such as reflection, faith, and positive connection with others, for the purpose of fostering a positive outlook
and resilience.
Therefore, in order to cultivate a healthy spirit means finding purpose and meaning in life. This can be done through faith based practices or
simply discovering one's own personal values. Purpose, meaning and values are usually about seeking and contributing our well-being to something
larger than our self.
Inner Peace and Resilience
A positive outlook on life is usually at the core of building a healthy spirit. Such a view on life is characterized by hope, optimism, and a sense
of gratitude. This will bring a sense of inner peace, even when we come face-to-face with life's challenges. It also provide us the ability to bounce
back when difficult experiences gets us down.
Healthy Body yields a Healthy Spirit
Some people believe that having physical health leads to a positive impact their mental and emotional well-being, thus, contributing to a healthy
spirit. However, morals and ethics, which are signs of a healthy spirit, should be considered first in order to provide directions to a healthy body
through a clear sense of right and wrong, and acting accordingly, i.e. right actions. This will lead one to self-acceptance and self forgiveness
as well as the forgiveness of others. Actually, the forgiveness of others is a form of self forgiveness.
Spiritual Practices leads one to Connection and Compassion
Engaging in spiritual practices, such as prayer, meditation (the practice used to cultivate mindfulness and focus), or connecting with a faith based
community, will contribute to the healthy of your spirit spirit. It can also involve cultivating meaningful connections with others and practicing
compassion for oneself and those around you - such as mindfulness (being present and fully engaged in the moment, observing your thoughts and feelings
without judgment, which can help reduce stress and improve focus).
Take time to reflect upon life and do an introspection of your daily activities to nurture the healthy of your spirit.
Spend time in nature! This will help you feel more connected to yourself and the world around you. Specially spend some quality time in the sunshine.
Practice Mindful Breathing - focus on the sensation of each breath you inhale and exhale as the air goes throughout your body.
Practice Mindful Eating - pay attention to the smell, taste, and texture, of your food and experience of art of eating.
All-in-all ~ began to pay attention to each and every sensation in your body, do so without judgment.
This is the art of: non-judging, patience, beginner's mind, trust, non-striving, acceptance, and letting go.
Hobbies and Interests
It is very important to find hobbies and activities of interest that can help you find joy and fulfillment.
Note that Interests are curiosity-driven topics that intellectually stimulate us, and hobbies are specific,
hands-on activities which are derived from our interests. Interests motivate our mind and give us reasons to take action.
