My background is in "technical writing" and "writing creative non-fiction". Writing, in general, include such as creative writing,
technical writing, journalism, and also editing. So far, I am into publishing in my blog, however, publishing may include writing for newspaper
or periodicals. You might want to publish a book someday or simply publish online. Then there are also other forms of independent publishing.
Either way, writing and publishing involves the creation and the sharing of content with an audience.
Some tips on basic writing and publishing
The first thing is to define your audience and purpose. You will consider your audience, who will
be reading your work. Also, together with this, you will have to have a clear idea of what it is that you wish to achieve with your
writing.
1. Develop a plan: Set your writing goals then create a plan for your writing process - time and place to write.
2. Revise and edit: Seek feedback from others who understand writing and make revisions, edits to your work - repeat until the work is complete.
3. Prepare for publication: Proofread and format your work for publication and make any final adjustments as needed.
4. Choose a publishing path such as traditional publishing, self-publishing, or hybrid publishing.
5. Find a publisher: If you want to get a book deal, you can research the market for your book idea, write a query letter, and submit your manuscript to publishing houses.
6. Self-publish: If you want to self-publish, you can use a free self-publishing site like Amazon KDP, PublishDrive, or Barnes & Noble Press.
