Energy Therapy

Energy Therapy

The goal of energy therapy is to balance the energy flow in the body, in order to reduce stress and anxiety and to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being.

There are several disciplines which can be used as therapies to promote energy balance; Healing Touch, Reiki, Qigong, and Therapeutic touch, just to name a few. While these disciplines cannot be easily measured scientifically, there are machines which do indicate the presence of energy fields surrounding and penetrating the human body.

I have personally experienced therapeutic touch, both as a person in need of healing and as a person providing the therapy. Note: Energy therapies are healing techniques that treat the mind, body, and spirit. Doctors sometimes refer to them as alternative or complementary therapies. Be that as it may, as a child growing up and getting into harmful situations, I was blessed to have a mother and grandmother who were experts in therapeutic touch.

Some say that the vital life energy that flow through and around our body is based on belief. Thus, they imply that Energy therapies are only a belief. However, if the goal of energy therapy is to unblock the flow of energy in our bodies and restore energetic balance and we become energized when using energy therapy - I would contend that energy therapy is more than belief. Balancing energy in our body is an ancient tradition for healing, it has become well-established throughout the world as a way for easing pain, reducing anxiety and combating side effects of cancer treatment.

Energy Healing

Let us recap a bit. Energy therapy is also known as energy healing. It is a complementary technique that aims to balance the energy flow through our bodies. The flow of energy promotes healing and well-being. Energy therapy is based on the invisible energy fields of the body that can become blocked or unbalanced. It is the blockage or unbalance which leads to illness. The goal of energy therapy is to unblock this energy flow.

Reiki: This is a discipline where in a practitioner places their hands on specific areas of the client's body to activate the energy flow. Clients often report feelings of relaxed, a sense of peacefulness, and warmth.

Earthing: Earthing is about walking barefoot or sleeping on the ground. This is to allow the transfer of electrons from the earth to the body. The healing effects are real, even if some skeptics and medical professionals criticize this concept as pseudoscience.

Energy psychology such as acupuncture is thought to temporarily deactivate the limbic response, preventing the body from becoming activated and/or anxious. However, note that energy therapies are meant to be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatment and not as a replacement for main stream medicine.

Tai chi as Energy Therapy

My personal favorite for energy therapy is Tai Chi & Qigong. It is a moving meditation that involves deep breathing and movements coordinated with breath.

The word "Tai" means "Supreme", "Ji" (Chi) means "Boundary" and "Quan" (Chuan) can mean "fist" or "movement". Together the term "Taijiquan" is a method of movement used to cultivate power which is without boundary. It can be practiced alone or with a group, and almost anywhere. Tai chi is suitable for people regardless of physical abilities. I personally use it to realign my spine.

At its core, Tai Chi (t'ai chi ch'uan) is a moving meditation which consist of a series of gentle movements (sequences of very slow controlled movements), that create harmony between mind and body. The ultimate goal of Tai Chi is to cultivate "qi" (our inner life energy), and cause it to flow smoothly through the body, thus empowering our bodies with unique spiritual and physical experiences to improve health.

Tai chi is based on the Theory that energy, or qi, flows through the body along pathways called meridians. When the flow of qi is blocked or unbalanced, it can lead to illness. Through the practice of Tai chi the qi can become balance and help to restore the balance of energy flow through out the body. This can bring balance to the system of organs in the body, to include the nervous system. Tai chi opens the meridian pathways to enhance immune function, release tension, and establish a sense of relaxation, peace, and strength.

Basically, Taijiquan brings balance to the two opposite yet complementary forces of yin and yang.

Yin Yang

The Chinese philosophy of Yin and yang is that they are two opposing, interconnected, complementary forces that are always changing and always in balance. These complementary forces make up all aspects of life. They are often depicted as the light and dark halves of a circle. Yin and yang can be observed in many aspects of reality, such as: Day and night, Female and male, Health and disease, Hot and cold, or even the sun relative to the moon. Balance is the optimal state of equilibrium between yin and yang. Disease or other issues are the result of imbalances.

The philosophy of yin-yang dates back to the 9th century BCE. It influenced both Taoism and Confucianism. Yin / Yang has applications in many fields of thinking such as "Cross-disciplinary studies", "Social science" as well as "Medical science".

Magnetic Energy

Magnetic Energy as therapy: Relive pain, Promote blood circulation, Optimum energy & stamina, Balance & harmony. Relieves fatigue and tiredness, Alleviates physical stress, striffness, cramps or discomfort. Relieves joint and muscle pain increases blood circulation. Magnetic therapy is based on the theory that when delivered directly to the body magnetic fields can stimulate healing from a range of health problems, Although its health claims include the treatment of multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, arthritis, insomnia, inflammation, and even cancer and heart disease, there is little scientific evidence for magnetic therapy’s effectiveness.

Any side effect? Magnetic therapy is very safe. The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirm that static magnetic fields pose no health risks at all. No complications have ever been reported with its proper use.

Negative Ion

Increase your sense of well-being and mental clarity, To relieve tension, Improved energy levels and focus, Better sleep, Reduces instances of headaches and sickness, Elevated mental concentration and performance.

Negative ions are naturally created by things like lightning, waterfalls, and sunlight, and they can also be found in certain environments auch as near the ocean or moving water. Negative ions are also known as anions. They are not directly associated with magnetic energy, although magnetic fields can influence their behavior in certain situations. Thus, while negative ions can be influenced by magnetic fields, they are not the same as magnetic energy.

Germanium

Germanium and magnets are sometimes incorporated into bracelets, like the Germanium magnetic bracelet, which are marketed for their potential health benefits, including pain relief and improved energy. However, scientific evidence supporting these claims is limited. A study found that magnetic bracelets do not reduce pain or improve mobility in people with osteoarthritis. However, that does not rule out they can strengthens one's immune system, Raises oxygen levels, Speeds up metabolism of body cells, regulate positive and negative ions within the body, removes harmful toxins, controls swelling, rReduce water retention and promote quality sleep. While magnetic fields can interact with living tissue and magnetic energy is a fundamental concept in physics, the specific claims about germanium and magnetic bracelets are not widely accepted by the scientific community.

Energy Therapy Bracelets

Many people believe in Magnetic Energy Therapy, such beliefs in magnetic bracelets help them to reduce anxiety and stress which also cause you to feel more happy. It is believed that Magnetic bracelets help to improve blood flow which in turn helps to reduce inflammation, lactic acid, calcium deposits as well as other dangerous toxins in the body. However, some scientists claim that there is a lack of any scientific basis to conclude that the small, static magnets can relieve pain.

For thousands of years people have been using magnets to treat many conditions. Recently, magnets are being used to relieve pain in phantom limb. The therapy involves applying a magnetic field to the body to relieve pain. When there is no pain, it is expected that the healing process will speed up.

So, how long should it take to experience the healing process of the magnetic bracelet?

The time it takes for healing depends on several things. One thing would be in how long the individual wear the bracelets. The longer you wear the magnetic bracelets you will expect to see greater results. On average, people report seeing between a week to a month before noticing a difference. Personally, I feel different as soon as I put on the magnets. However, I am a long time user of energy healing techniques.

Magnetic field strength in magnetic bracelets

Gauss (G) and tesla (T) are both units of measurement for magnetic field strength (magnetic flux density), but tesla is the SI unit while gauss is a cgs unit. One tesla is equal to 10,000 gauss. The strength of a magnet in a bracelet is measured in gauss, which indicates the density of magnetic force lines. Magnetic bracelets typically contain rare earth neodymium magnets, with strengths ranging from 300 to 5,000 gauss. Tesla is the preferred unit of measurement in modern scientific and technical contexts, while gauss is used in some specific fields like geophysics or materials science.

Red Blood Cells and Magnetism

The iron-rich hemoglobin of Red blood cells makes them sensitive to magnetic fields. When exposed to a strong magnetic field such as 1.3 Tesla or higher, these cells tend to align themselves with the field lines. This alignment reduces the resistance to blood flow, effectively lowering the viscosity of the blood. Blood viscosity is a key factor in cardiovascular health. The high viscosity can, potentially, lead to increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. Thus, the magnetic effect on blood viscosity could have therapeutic implications, potentially offering a non-pharmacological approach to managing conditions related to high blood viscosity.

Blood Viscosity

Blood viscosity is a key factor in the cardiovascular system. It affects how much oxygen is transported to organs and tissues. The amount of oxygen in the organs will affect how well those organs work. The heart needs to pump blood throughout the body. The blood viscosity is a measure of how thick the blood is and how resistant it is to flow. As I see it, this increase in the flow of blood to the organs will help increase the oxygen to the organs. In which case, the organs should work better. I see that as something to feel good about!
