Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)

In these trying times, We hope everyone stay healthy!

• "Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing."
• "If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry."

CDC Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) How to Prepare

It seems that those who are reporting about the situation could provide us with more information about the subject. So, I looked up some information on "coronavirus". Here is what I found out.

The coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China, is the subject of concern. However, it should be noted that it is a new member of the coronavirus (cov) labeled as (COVID-19).

"Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China."

We should note that the common cold is caused by coronaviruses or rhinoviruses.

"The common cold is a viral infectious disease that infects the upper respiratory system. It is also known as acute viral rhinopharyngitis and acute coryza."

"It is the most common infectious disease in humans and is mainly caused by coronaviruses or rhinoviruses."

"Because there are more than 200 viruses that cause the common cold, the human body can never build up resistance to all of them. This is why colds are so common and often return."
All about the common cold

"The coronavirus is in the same family of viruses as SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) and MERS."
Coronavirus update

"Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a contagious and sometimes fatal respiratory illness."

"SARS is caused by a strain of coronavirus, the same family of viruses that causes the common cold. Previously, these viruses had never been particularly dangerous to humans.

Coronaviruses can, however, cause severe disease in animals, and that's why scientists suspected that the SARS virus might have crossed from animals to humans. It now seems likely that that the virus evolved from one or more animal viruses into a new strain."
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)

"MERS-CoV refers to a viral respiratory illness — Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) — that's caused by a coronavirus (CoV), the same family of viruses that can cause the common cold."
What is MERS-CoV, and what should I do?

It seems that the "coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)" is more likely to cause death than the common cold! However, the treatment is much the same as for a cold.

• "If you are sick, to keep from spreading respiratory illness to others, you should"
• "Stay home when you are sick."
• "Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash."
• "Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces."
