It is very important that we teach our children to read. Children will not be able to survive in the culture of today if they don't know how to read.

Good reading materials encourage our children to learn new things and acquire extra knowledge about the world around them. Some subjects, such as animals and there natural habitats will hold a child's attention longer than other subjects.

As we know, children today have a very short attention span. If the thing we provide them does not interest them or if it intimidates them, they will not spend ample time with it. Books are good to give to our children, but most of time kids find books intimidating and really boring because of the lack of visual materials. Children tend to learn better and faster if they have visual stimulation.

An alternative to books are magazines. Children are not intimidated by magazines, in fact they welcome magazines because they easier to read and usually have more pictures in them.
