The Right to Self Determination
Africans in America have the Right to Return to the land of their origin and the Right to Self Determi[nation]
Repatriation of Africa
"The Back-to-Africa movement, was also known as the Colonization movement, originated in the
United States in the 19th century. It encouraged those of African descent to return to the
African homelands of their ancestors. This movement would eventually inspire other movements
ranging from the Nation of Islam to the Rastafari movement."
"Blacks' interest in Liberia emigration emerged when the Civil War promised the end of slavery
and meaningful change to the status of Black Americans. 7,000 slaves were freed by their masters,
so at that point those free African Americans left the U.S. to escape racism and have more
opportunities (mainly because they had lost all hope of achievement). In the 1830s, the movement
became increasingly dominated by slave owners who wanted Liberia to absorb the free blacks of
the South. Slaves freed from slave ships were sent here instead of their country of origin. The
emigration of free blacks to Liberia particularly increased after the Nat Turner rebellion in 1831.
Middle class blacks were more resolved to live as black Americans, many rural poor folks gave up
on the United States and looked to Liberia to construct a better life. Liberia provided freedom
and equality; it also represented a chance for a better life for the South's black farmers. The
Liberian government promised 25 acres of free land for each immigrant family, 10 acres for a single
adult, who came to the Black Republic."

Right of Return
Right of Return is International Law -
The term right of return refers to a principle of international law,
codified in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the
International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, giving any
person the right to return to, and re-enter, his or her country of
origin. This principle is sometimes reflected in special consideration
in a country's immigration laws (called "repatriation") which facilitate
or encourage the reunion of a diaspora.
President Lincoln on Repatriate Africans back to Africa
In the 1800s President Lincoln propose a Constitutional Amendment to Repatriate Africans back to Africa.
In spite of obstacles, Lincoln re-affirmed his strong support for gradual emancipation
coupled with resettlement in his second annual message to Congress of December 1, 1862.
He used the term "deportation"!
Thinking about repatriation
Thinking about repatriation is a good thing, especially if it is first mental repatriation. Anything
else and we would have a whole set of people (Blacks, Whites and others) moving to Africa
with a colonized mindset. They would build just another version of White missionaries communities who
unconsciously promote Eurocentric interests ahead the interest of Black Africans.
Star Black Foundation International
Star Black Foundation International is
a youth voluntary organization that works in partnership
with the Council of Chief to oversee the organization and development of the Repatriation lands.
"This page is livicated to the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey. It was he that showed us the Way
and provided the means for repatriation. In Black man's dictionary his face is boldly blazoned
next to the word 'repatriation'. Yet for all his vigilance and determination to see Africa for
the Africans at home and abroad he only earned the disdain of society. He was pillaged by the
very Isrealites he was freeing from bondage, jailed by the powers that be and deported to his
birthplace, only to be further scorned for his apparent 'failures'. To him we credit our progress
and because of his spirit over us we are insured of our success."
"For millions of refugees around the world, going home remains the strongest hope of finding an end
to exile. As the durable solution of choice for the largest number of refugees, voluntary repatriation
in safety and dignity requires the full commitment of the country of origin to help reintegrate its
own people. It also needs the continuing support of the international community through the crucial
post-conflict phase to ensure that those who make the brave decision to go home can rebuild their
lives in a stable environment."
